I never miss my country but…

We are living for 23 years now in Spain and I still enjoy our life here very much. Nice country and nice people. I never miss Holland but sometimes when I see my older watercolours I want to go for a short walk in the polder.

  1. Thank you ever so much for sharing your hobby. I am looking forward to mixing flesh colours with paints. I have been working with pastels doing potraits but now i understand how i can use more colours just like painting. I have learnt so much now i need to get into drawing lots of potraits sothat i can experiment before i move onto canvass. One thing i noticed was that you work on a grid background is that for bigger portraits. I use to like using a grid more for accuracy i guess it wouldnt do any harm I also liked how you approached your work and using the mirror to look back on your progress. Also you drew with a coloured pencil is that better than charchoal or pencil..I used to go to our local art class to learn how to do potraits our tutor is very good but now i have invested in a very good computer and decided to tap into the net. Thats how i came across your sight first. I am interested in doing your tutorials on line so i will be checking up to see when they will be available. I live in a fishing town called Kaikoura which is on the East Coast of the South Island of New Zealand would you believe was named after a Dutch explorer but we still call it Aotearoa our indeginous name. Once again just so gratefull to all this technology at our fingertips.

    1. Hi Tamara.
I appreciate your words and I am glad that my videos get you ahead. I am working hard on my first long demonstration. Hopefully within two weeks it will be available.
      Kind regards.
