Still from the video tutorial

Every so often I get the question of what colours skin tone is composed. I can not possibly answer that question because every complexion has its own composition.

Portrait of a little girlIn the two in-depth video tutorials I show exactly which colour and in what quantity in the different parts of the face, I used to paint the portrait.

  1. Hi Ben,
In Photoshop or some other equivalent program would it be advisable to posterize the photograph to less colours?. Also would you advise using the eye dropper tool to choose and make a colour strip so the colours are easier to see?. I would be really interested to hear your thoughts on this.

As always Ben, thank you for all your valuable advice and help.

    Best Regards,

    Sam

    1. I have wondered the same questions that Sam wrote above and would be interested in hearing your answers.

    2. Hi Sam.
I don´t know about another program like photoshop to posterize. It will be available in the market.
Working from photography, I would always would use the test strip. And a piece of paper with a little square hole in it (1cm x1cm) like a peep hole. Put that on top of the photograph and choose a colour that you want to make. It helps you to isolate a colour.
      Good luck.
      Ben

    1. To know exact what colours are in a peep hole you need experience. To get experience you must practice. Every colour is different and has its own basics. It is important to mix the right colour with the least possible amount of colours.Try not to use more than 3.
